Installation of Ball Obstacles at Mekarsari Tourism Park in Kaligentong Village, Boyolali Regency to Increase Tourism Potential and Form Children’s Dexterity

Boyolali, 7 July 2023– Community Service has been carried out by Lecturers and Students who are members of the Manufacturing and Automation Technology research group of the Mechanical Engineering Study Program, Universitas Sebelas Maret. The service was carried out at Mekarsari Park which is located in Kaligentong Village, Gladagsari District, Boyolali Regency, Central Java Province. This park has three functions, namely the function of maintaining river and environmental sustainability, the function of a recreation area for community members and educational facilities, and the function of culinary business facilities and marketing of MSME products. However, in its development, there is still an open empty space that can be used as a place for children to play and study.

From these problems the servant made rides at the Mekarsari park in the form of a ball obstacle course. This vehicle is designed like a basketball hoop with the hope of increasing the cooperation of the children playing. Through this collaboration, it is hoped that mutual trust will be formed in children who are still developing. Making rides is done by paying attention to material and immaterial aspects which are one of the applicative courses in Mechanical Engineering.

It is hoped that the service will become a playground that can grow and develop children, including learning and training children’s dexterity from an early age. The vehicle has been checked and after we tested it can function properly. Hopefully our dedication from this mechanical engineering study program can bring benefit and prosperity to the people who visit Mekarsari Park in general.
