Rector of Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta, Prof. Dr. Jamal Wiwoho inaugurated 178 Heads of Department Program (Kaprodi) for period 2019-2023 in G.P.H. Haryo Mataram Auditorium, on Wednesday (05/29/2019). From the number, the inaugurated officials included Director of Vocation School, Heads of Professional Programs, Heads of Bachelor Programs, Heads of Master Programs, Heads of Doctoral Programs, and Heads of Specialist Programs.
In his speech, Rector of UNS, Prof. Dr. Jamal Wiwoho expected the inaugurated Heads of Department Programs were able to improve the bureaucracy quality of each department programs. He encouraged the department programs in UNS can provide the easy, fast, and friendly bureaucracy climate, especially the bureaucracy service for the students.
“I look ahead for them not to complicate the academic enforcement for the students. And I ask for it to be accelerated,” he said.
Moreover, Prof. Jamal also left a message to the new Heads of Department Programs to upgrade the accreditation of the departments which must be A. Not only the Heads of Department Programs but he also anticipated the participation of the Dean to supervise the accreditation process.
“Deans in each faculty are also responsible to evaluate the performance of the Heads of Department Programs if they are not A accredited yet,” he said firmly.
The enhancement of accreditation is one of the concepts of five pillars carried out by Prof. Jamal in leading UNS. The concept is re-orientation and acceleration of the learning system in line with the era of industrial revolution 4.0. Prof. Jamal stressed in dealing with transition phase for Industrial Revolution 4.0, each department programs must adapt to the current development.
